Lambeth Council deploys Novell Sentinel Log Manager to comply with GCSX CoCo
Compliance with GCSX CoCo was important for Lambeth Council to maintain its public services and so it undertook a review of solutions to support its compliance requirements. While there is no specific solution for GCSX CoCo in the UK, the IT team wanted a flexible and scalable log management solution to become the platform for all future compliance requirements. Lambeth Council worked with Securiam to deploy Novell Sentinel Log Manager to meet the infrastructure security requirements of their mixed operating system environment.
Within 30 days, the Novell, Securiam and Lambeth team had designed the solution, installed the software and rolled it out across the IT environment. As a result, Lambeth achieved GCSX CoCo compliance ahead of the deadline, and is now able to communicate seamlessly and securely with key central government systems.
Mary Cotterell, Technology Programme Manager, Lambeth Council, said, "Working with Securiam and Novell, we have deployed a highly flexible and scalable log management solution quickly and cost effectively, ensuring we have full access to key government systems and mitigating any impact on public services. Novell Sentinel Log has made an essential contribution to our successful GCSX compliance exercise, and will continue as a key tool for meeting future compliance requirements such as PCI-DSS."
A number of other local authorities in the UK are using Novell's solutions for GCSX CoCo compliance including Bracknell Forest Council and Surrey County Council.
